The pattern was in last year's Knitter's Magazine (Spring 2005). It's called "Saguaro".

Girl, I'm LOVING your top!! Love, love the colors...it looks great on you....AND...you won the Interweave Knits...I need your addy.
It's lovely! What yarn did you use?
Hey Girl--I love this sweater!! I can't even imagine doing a sweater yet-although I've done socks and a shrug, so i think I may be getting there! I just finished a 1 skein cabled Noro scarf for a little 9 year old girl who loved it so much what could I do!! I love her anyway, she's a darling girl. I hope it'll be long enough--she's only 9, for Petes sake!!
Is Marvin still away at LV?? I hope you had some good YOU time!!

I used a good basic yarn, "Aunt Lydia's Denim Cotton Thread". It was on sale at Walmart for $2.50 a skein. This pattern used about 6 skeins, so I think I did pretty well!
One thing though....it pills a lot, so if I were to make the sweater again, I'd use a nicer yarn.
